Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays and this year I’m in love. It makes me think of all the marvelous songs that have been written throughout the years about love. By golly, I’d say it was at least 90%! So sweet. So, so sweet.
Being in Love makes you feel all kinds of emotions. It’s a rollercoaster ride that only the strong can handle. Although in the end, it is always worth it. Along with a good vomit. Oooo what a serendipitous day!
To commemorate my love this year I have decided to make a playlist of songs from my childhood that really taught me about this glorious and wonderful emotion. I’d say they set me up for success! Thank you early to mid 2000’s pop music!
“You Make Me Sick,” P!nk (2000)
I just can’t get this song out of my head right now. It reminds me of those few short days I had the flu this year. Not once though did love betray me, it was always there for me!
“Bye Bye Bye,” *NSYNC (2000)
Sometimes it is hard to say goodbye. Just walking out the door and hearing it lock behind me is almost too much somedays. It’s just so hard to leave your love.
“Stronger,” Britney Spears (2000)
Love has made me stronger in every since of the word. From my new found emotional stability to my fear of being alone, love has provided me strength to move forward.
“Since You’ve Been Gone,” Kelly Clarkson (2004)
Sometimes you get so wrapped up in love, you forget there are things you need to do! Things like getting groceries or cleaning your toilet. Sometimes I just have to exclaim “Look at how much I’ve done since you’ve you been gone!”
“Hate (I Really Don’t Like You),” Plain White Tees (2006)
I remember when I first heard this song. I just thought it was down right mean, but now I just see how love conquers all. These emotions inside of me give me butterflies!
“Gives You Hell,” All American Rejects (2008)
Now I know what you are asking yourself, why wouldn’t I want to give my love heaven? Well sometimes you just need to fully know the opposite to know what’s in front of you!
Love is such a magnificent feeling! It’s so great to be in love. Being along is bad, very very bad. That is what my southern upbringing has always told me. I should have fathered three children by now with two different girls and had a divorce! Thanks south for single handedly repopulating the world (Special shout out to Oklahoma!).
Now I know what you are asking yourself. What is her name? Who is this lady who has taken over my life? Well her name is…
Vinyl stinkin’ records.
