Hey ya’ll,

I currently live in New York, but I think it’s obvious I’m a transplant. Okie dust runs deep in my veins and the heartland is my original home.

My love of vinyl began at the age of 14 when a local radio station liquidated their old vinyl collection. My mom, who was a high school librarian, brought home the school’s portable record player to play these magical black discs.

It was downhill from there. I picked up record after record at local garage and estate sales and record shops. My collection has grown steadfastly and I have at least over 1,000 albums.

Vinyl for me is the purest way to listen to music. Not only is it warm, but it is real. Listening to an album is a concert in your living room. The artist is there. Every fold and turn, every emotion and thought is struck in pristine audio quality.

I started this blog as a place to attempt to describe the experience of listening to a vinyl album. It’s hard to put words to it, but I try the best I can. It’s too good to keep to myself.
